Effet of hematite (Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>) from natural iron ore as a catalyst in MgH<sub>2</sub> as hydrogen storage materials

Abstract The main obstacle that hinders the application of fuel cell fuels for vehicles today is hydrogen storage tube. Therefore, this paper will report results a study on MgH 2 -based materials with Fe O 3 catalyst inserted (5 wt%, 10 15wt%) and prepared by mechanical alloying technique hours. samples were obtained from Lhoong Setia Mining site in Jantang Village, Lhoong, Aceh Besar. initial sample separation process was carried out manually using bar magnet. Furthermore, hematite extraction addition 1M HCL NaOH each. Then milling -Fe planetary ball mill. X-ray diffraction test showed phase most dominant/mainstream phase. Thermal testing DSC H desorption experienced decrease temperature 194.56 °C time variation 7
